Israeli forces killed at least five Palestinians in a night raid on a village near the occupied West Bank town of Tulkarem, according to Palestinian officials and a Reuters reporter who was at the scene.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that one of the Palestinians died on the way to the hospital, following the army’s operation in Deir al-Wusun. The journalist said he saw Israeli forces withdrawing from the village, taking with them two dead men.
The Israeli military said it was conducting “counter-terrorist operations” in the area.
At least 460 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces or Jewish settlers in the West Bank and East Jerusalem since the war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip broke out on October 7. Some were armed militants, but youths throwing stones as well as unarmed civilians not involved in incidents have also been killed.
