Five officers killed in attack on police in Iran: Iranian media

Iran At least five security personnel, including a police station deputy, have been killed in “terrorist attacks” in the south of the country on Thursday, state media said.

According to the news agency AFP, Deputy Governor Ali Raza Marhamati told the state TV that “the province Sistan and Baluchestan Risk of and spring Five security personnel have been martyred in several terrorist attacks on police stations in cities during the night.

According to the Reuters news agency, Iranian media say that eight of the attackers were also killed.

The statement also said that the militant group Jaish al-Adl, which was formed in 2012 and is blacklisted by Iran as a ‘terrorist’ group, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

In July last year, two policemen and four assailants were killed in an attack on another police station in Zahedan, the capital of the same province.
