  1. Weight gain. Alcohol has a lot of “empty” calories, and it is more caloric than carbohydrates and proteins (in 1 g – 4 kcal, in alcohol – 7 kcal). And alcohol is often consumed along with high-calorie ingredients: soda, syrup, juice. Because alcohol is a toxin, it will be digested first compared to other nutrients, which will make it difficult for you to control your weight and reduce the amount of fat you burn.

  2. Hormonal imbalance. As one study showed, chronic alcohol consumption in large doses can disrupt the interaction of the immune, nervous and endocrine systems. As a result, hormonal imbalance will also occur. It can adversely affect reproductive function, mental state, behavior, immunity, etc.
