Five lakh bounty announced in Pitikittappulli, Malappuram Assam native arrested in Malappuram

Malappuram: Assam police have arrested Pitikittappulli in Malappuram for announcing a bounty of Rs 5 lakh. Nilambur police arrested Azmat Ali, a native of Sonitpur, and his accomplice Ameer Khusmu. He was staying with other state workers in Nilambur.

The accused in the case of poaching of endangered rhinos had come to Kerala and was in hiding. Assam police had declared him a fugitive and announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to his arrest.

The accused was nabbed by the Nilambur police on the basis of information provided by the Assam police. Assam police have reached Nilambur. It is learned that he will be brought to Assam soon. He is accused in several criminal cases.

As the Assam police intensified their search for him, he was on his way to Kerala with workers looking for work. And then settled with other state workers. Assam police have not received any information regarding him and the investigation has stalled.

He is accused in several criminal cases and came to Nilambur as a safe haven. Earlier, an investigation was launched into his phone number but no information was received. He had not been in touch with relatives or family for some time. However, the police got the information that Azmat Ali was in Nilambur when he contacted his relatives on the phone a few days back.

He was arrested by Nilambur Police Inspector Vishnu and his team. He was arrested this morning on the instructions of the district police chief. The group included a tax force under the DYSP and the Nilambur police.
