A bus went off the road and fell into an abyss.
On the morning of this Saturday, a bus from the Cootransmayo company rolled into an abyss at kilometer 71 of the Mocoa-Pitalito highway in Colombia. Preliminary information indicates that there would be 40 passengers in the vehicle. The initial report spoke of four dead and 25 wounded.
But later it was adjusted by the authorities and there were five people who lost their lives in the event.
The police commander of the department, Roberto Marín, referred to the event.
“There is a traffic accident where unfortunately a vehicle from the Cootransmayo company goes off the road and there is a rollover. We have four people dead and between 20 and 25 people injured. Coordination has already been made with all the emergency entities of the department and the same municipality to coordinate all types of ambulances and the logistical support that is necessary in this unfortunate event, ”he indicated in the first report.
“He went into the abyss and there are several wounded. Our assistance units, inspector, vehicle workshop, tow truck, ambulance, third-party ambulances are activated: Pitalito firefighters, Putumayo central POLCA are on the move,” the Rural South concessionaire said on its Twitter account.
Minutes later, the Minister of Transport, Ángela María Orozco, confirmed the death toll, lamented the fact and highlighted the importance of the mechanical technical review in the units.
