If the tension goes down in the streets, thousands of French people are already suffering the consequences of these nights of chaos. Like the more than 500 employees of Tessi, a company specializing in IT, located in Roubaix in the North. Their premises were totally devastated by the flames during the night of Thursday to Friday and they are now completely destitute.REPORTAGE
The lull is confirmed on the front of urban violence, a week following the death of young Nahel. Only sixteen people were arrested overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday, according to the Interior Ministry. If the tension goes down in the streets, it is time to take stock for many companies. And the damage can be very heavy. Within the Tessi company, specializing in IT, in Roubaix, 500 employees have been plunged into the unknown since their premises were ravaged by flames.
Premises set on fire then looted, the double penalty
On site, the smell of burning and burnt plastic is still very present, from the moment you enter. All that remains is the structure of the three-storey building, which was first burned down overnight from Thursday to Friday and then completely looted last weekend, as Fouad, an employee, explains.
“What had survived the flames was torn out. For example, the furniture to recover small metals that came out through the false ceilings… Some even went so far as to throw radiators from the third floor without anyone telling them… air conditioner motors were stolen and loaded into trucks. All vandalism”, he explains before adding: “And no one to intervene”. A double penalty: the site was not protected for the management of Tessi. Cécilia, the company’s Hauts-de-France manager, calls for help.
“The mayors received by the president but we nothing”
