Fitness giant closes center in North Jutland city

Heavy weights and long runs in the PureGym fitness center in Brønderslev will soon be over.

PureGym writes this themselves on their website.

– This center will unfortunately close on March 31, it says.

The announcement regarding the closure of PureGym’s center in Brønderslev is further confirmed by PureGym’s press cooperation partner, Morten Huse Eikrem-Jeppesen, who is CEO of Pressconnect.

– Unfortunately, it has not been possible to create the framework and opportunities that our members expect in Brønderslev. We have therefore taken a strategic decision to close the centre.

In 2019, the British fitness chain PureGym acquired FitnessWorld, which at the time had 170 fitness centers in Denmark. PureGym is today Denmark’s largest fitness chain.

But soon there will be one less center when the fitness center in Brønderslev closes.

– At PureGym, we strive every day to deliver the best training experience to our members while ensuring profitability in operations. We are constantly looking at where we can continually improve and optimize operations in our training centers across the country, explains Morten Huse Eikrem-Jeppesen.

He also states that it is not PureGym’s plan to close other gyms in North Jutland.

In addition to the center in Brønderslev, PureGym has fitness centers in Hjørring, Frederikshavn, Hobro and 10 centers in Aalborg.
