The US electric car manufacturer Fisker, which is also active in Europe, recently gave an outlook on four models planned by 2026. These include the convertible coupé Ronin, which is said to be particularly elegant, powerful and with a long range. Now further details have been revealed, so it is not a luxury car intended for mass production.

The Ronin will sell for $385,000 before taxes, according to Fisker. Only 999 copies are to be made by him. The manufacturer calls the Ronin a GT convertible. If the foldable carbon hardtop is closed, it is a large coupé with space for five occupants. To become a convertible, the roof folds up electrically in the trunk.

The Ronin should offer the driving performance of a super sports car: the sprint to 100 km/h should be done in two seconds and finish at 275 km/h. Fisker also promises a range of almost 1000 kilometers per charge. The traction battery cells integrated in the aluminum frame are a structural part of the vehicle.

The Ronin’s front gullwing doors open electrically. Only when they are folded up can the rear doors attached to the C-pillars be opened. There are no B-pillars, which makes it easier to get into the rear. It is unlocked via smartphone or swipe gesture. Other special features of the noble sports car are digital rear-view mirrors and a digital cockpit with large displays and touch screen as well as 23-inch wheels made of carbon.

Interested parties can register for the Ronin for 2000 US dollars (1830 euros) – also in Germany. It is not yet known who will produce the electric car. For its mid-range SUV Ocean, which has been available since this year, Fisker relies on the Austrian production facilities of contract manufacturer and partner Magna.

“The Fisker Ronin is designed for people who love to drive, but who are also passionate regarding automotive art and design and demand that their high-performance vehicles have a sustainable future,” said CEO and Founder Henrik Fisker. “Our goal was to create a classic grand touring car, updated for the 21st century and designed for customers who want to go from Los Angeles to Napa Valley on a single battery charge or cruise the freeway at consistently high speeds without worrying regarding battery capacity.”

In addition to Ocean and Ronin, Fisker plans to launch the city car PEAR and the pick-up Alaska by 2026.
