International Children’s Day will be observed from next year.

Pope Francis revealed this when he greeted the faithful following the blessing at the midday prayer he led at the Vatican on Friday, December 8, which was the feast day of Amalotbhava Natha.

The Pope announced that the first Children’s Day will be celebrated on May 25 and 26, 2024 and the venue will be the city of Rome.

The Pope revealed that this day is an answer to the question of what kind of world we want to give to the growing children and it will be held under the auspices of the Roman Curia for educational and cultural affairs. The Pope also reminded us that we should put children at the center and take care of them, just like Jesus did.

Last November 6, the Pope met with eight thousand children from different parts of the world at the Paul VI School in the Vatican. World Children’s Day will be an opportunity for many children around the world to live beautiful moments of prayer and celebration with the Pope.
