For the first time, a woman has been given the post of Vice-Chancellor in Indian university Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh Muslim University is one of the largest and oldest universities in India.
According to Indian media, Naima Khatun is the first woman, who has been elected as the vice chancellor of the university for the first time in the 100 years of the university’s history.
She has been appointed by the Indian Minister of Education, it should be noted that the Indian President Draupadi Marumo visited the university, following which the female professor has been appointed as the Vice Chancellor.
In response to this posting, the Election Commission of India also said that Naima Khatun, Principal of Women’s College, is being appointed as the Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University for 5 years.
