Ralph Hasenhüttl and FC Southampton celebrated their first win in the third round of the English Premier League on Saturday. The Saints enjoyed a narrow 2-1 win at Leicester City. Che Adams secured the first treble of the current season for the Austrian coach’s team with a brace following a 1-0 deficit.
Record goal for Spurs star Kane
Tottenham remains undefeated in the new season. Losing in the first half, the Londoners beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 at home in the third round on Saturday followingnoon, Harry Kane scoring in the 64th minute. It was his 185th goal for Tottenham, no other player has scored as many times for a club in the Premier League. Tottenham temporarily took the lead in the table.
Fulham was also able to celebrate their first win. The newly promoted team beat Brentford 3-2 in the small London derby and meanwhile moved up to fourth place with their first success. Aleksandar Mitrovic gave the hosts victory in the 90th minute at Craven Cottage following Brentford came from 2-0 down.
Speaking of Leicester: Jamie Vardy extended his contract with the “Foxes” until June 2024. The striker joined the 2016 champions in 2012 and scored 164 goals in 387 games. Vardy was last in talks for a transfer to Manchester United.
