The launch of Marvel’s Spider Man on PC is Friday, August 12. A week later, the developers released the first update to fix some bugs.

As a reminder, Marvel’s Spider-Man was originally released on the PlayStation 4 in 2018. Despite this long wait for PC gamers, its porting to this platform is a great success. For Sony, it is even the second largest launch on the Steam platform. However, the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Manlike most ports, has several problems. The first patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man on computer updates the game to its version 1.817.1.0. He brings mainly graphical changes. According to Insomniac Games et Nixxes Softwareit would be a « premier petit patch ».

It should be noted that Insomniac Games is a game development company that Sony acquired in 2019. As for Nixxes Software, it is a video game development studio focused on ports between various platforms.

Going back to the patch, it allows the product better Windows version checking of the user. This avoids false positives. In addition, it will also bring more stability when players use the Alt+Tab shortcut to quit the game.

From graphical improvementsthe update fixes in particular crashes related to ray-tracing. It also fixes a ray-tracing bug that caused the distortion of reflections on stainless steel.

Apart from ray-tracing, the developers have also fixed an issue regarding the side quest pop-ups. These pop-ups were appearing stretched when the resolution was set to big screen. Visual renderings of Marvel’s Spider-Man related to graphics software Nvidia DLSS et HBOA+ also received improvements.

Coming soon, Insomniac and Nixxes plan to bring a bigger update. This aims to rectify the concerns reported by users, three of which are relatively annoying.

Three bugs from Marvel’s Spider-Man to solve

The first problem concerns the ray-tracing options Marvel’s Spider-Man. Players don’t have access, even if the specifications of their computer allow it. Apparently the game disables the feature when theAgility SDK of DirectX 12 is not working. And this is also the case on unsupported hardware. However, people have reported that Agility SDK does not work with the game.

As for the other two bugs, they block progress in Marvel’s Spider-Man. One of them prevents players from advancing in the Spider-Hack mission when the refresh rate exceeds 60 Hz. Of course, it is possible to override this problem by limiting the settings to 60 FPS.

The last bug prevents users from take a picture of the Empire State Building. Because of this, they were stuck on a quest. According to the developers, this problem affects only those who play with a computer equipped with Intel GPUs.

Fans of the game can only hope that the next patch promised by Insomniac and Nixxes fixes these bugs.
