It is an open secret that Robert Lewandowski wants to leave FC Bayern for FC Barcelona in the summer. While the Pole, through his agent Pini Zahavi, has been in contact with the Catalans for months, there have been no talks between the two clubs so far. According to current reports, this might change in the near future.
According to reports, Bayern would be ready to sell Robert Lewandowski in the summer from a transfer fee of 40 million euros. Even if FC Barcelona is in financial trouble, one would be willing to raise this sum. As reported by Toni Juanmarti from the Spanish “SPORT”.the two clubs might soon sit down at the negotiating table.
Lewy transfer poker is set to begin in the next few days
According to Juanmarti, there might be a first meeting between the two clubs “in the next few days”. Accordingly, Barcelona would like to find out the negotiating position of Munich in order to make an initial offer. “Sky” has also confirmed the reports from Spain that Barcelona want to step on the gas pedal.
Whether Bayern are currently willing to talk regarding the Lewandowski cause is open. In the past few days, those responsible on the Isar have not necessarily given the impression that they want to conduct sales talks in a timely manner.
Barcelona need to make room in the squad for a Lewandowski
Barça and Lewandowski are said to have already reached an agreement in principle on an oral basis. The Catalans are rumored to be luring the 33-year-old forward with a 3-year deal and a salary of just under €30m.
Nevertheless, those responsible at the Camp Nou face a “small problem”. Currently the club Lewandowski cannot register as a new player. Reason: Due to the salary cap in the Spanish league, Barça have to reduce their current salary costs. In plain language, this means that the club has to sell players in the summer.
