After a long autumn period with high precipitation as much as degrees Celsius, winter is upon us. And what better way to see this than snowflakes? In the Ardennes, the first of the season fell around 7:15 p.m. Thursday evening.
This is demonstrated by a video taken by the Belgian Meteo Club at Baraque De Fraiture in Vielsalm, in the north of the province of Luxembourg.
The camera sits at an altitude of around 650 meters, making it one of the highest points in the country.
According to the weather service, further winter precipitation is possible Friday evening. A mixture of rain and sleet is expected in the higher reaches of the Ardennes, while in the rest of the country, mainly heavy rain is expected.
