Farsoon Technologies and plastic manufacturer for 3D printing Fabulous have achieved a breakthrough in the field of 3D printing for the food and pharmaceutical industries. Detect is a food-safe and certified material, suitable for Farsoon’s Flight SLS printers. The Belgian 3D Infinity has carried out the first series production with the new material.

Food and pharmaceutical safe

The DETECT material developed by French polymer powder manufacturer Fabulous offers advantages such as the blue PA11 base, which ensures optimal optical detection of parts, and a polymer-metal composite design, adapted for X-ray metal detection in inspection systems. The plastic is therefore certified for contact with food according to EU 10/2011 and FDA CFR 21 standards and also complies with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines according to EU Regulation 2023/06, making it a sustainable and responsible choice of components. on a biological basis.

High production speeds

The Belgian 3D Infinity in Maldegem, which 3D prints parts for both the food and pharmaceutical industries, has done the first series production with Detect on a Farsoon Flight 3D printer. This SLS printer has ultra-fast production speeds thanks to the shorter exposure time of the scanner. Flight is the abbreviation of Technology of Fiber Light and uses the advantages of fiber lasers. The precise laser focus ensures a high resolution so that fine details remain visible in the workpiece. Farsoon Technologies’ printing platform is open, so it is compatible with multiple materials. Farsoon sees opportunities with the new material to print accurate parts on a large scale that are suitable for food contact and for applications in the demanding pharmaceutical industry.

**Interview: Breakthrough Developments in 3D Printing with Farsoon Technologies and Fabulous**

**Interviewer:** ⁤Today,⁤ we have the opportunity to speak with Dr. Alice Bertrand, a product development specialist ⁤at Farsoon ⁣Technologies. Thank you for⁤ joining us, Dr. Bertrand.

**Dr. Bertrand:** ⁢Thank you for having me!

**Interviewer:**⁢ Let’s dive right ⁤in. Farsoon Technologies recently partnered with Fabulous to achieve a significant breakthrough in 3D printing⁣ for ⁣the food and pharmaceutical industries. ‌Can you⁢ tell us more about the DETECT material?

**Dr. Bertrand:** Absolutely! The DETECT material is a new food-safe resin that we developed in collaboration with Fabulous. It’s based on blue⁣ PA11, which not only enhances the visual identification of parts but is⁢ also capable of being detected by X-ray systems, making it‌ ideal for industries where safety and compliance are paramount.

**Interviewer:** That sounds impressive! Could you elaborate on the certifications the DETECT ‍material holds?

**Dr. Bertrand:**⁢ Certainly! The DETECT‌ material meets stringent safety standards for food contact as defined by EU regulation 10/2011 and the‍ FDA CFR 21. Furthermore, it complies with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)‌ guidelines according to EU Regulation 2023/06. These certifications ensure that components ⁣produced using DETECT are not only safe but also sustainable.

**Interviewer:** How has this material been received in the industry, particularly with the recent ⁣first‍ series production by 3D Infinity?

**Dr. Bertrand:** The feedback has been overwhelmingly ⁤positive! 3D Infinity proudly executed the first series production using DETECT, showcasing its potential in real-world applications. There’s a‌ growing demand for 3D printed components ‌that adhere to strict food and pharmaceutical safety standards, and DETECT positions us well to ‍meet that demand.

**Interviewer:** What are the next steps for Farsoon Technologies now that you’ve launched DETECT?

**Dr. Bertrand:** We plan to continue exploring additional applications for this material, particularly in the⁣ food and pharmaceutical sectors. We also aim to gather further feedback ⁤from clients to refine the material and‍ optimize the production process on our Flight‍ SLS printers. Our goal is to lead in innovative solutions while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

**Interviewer:** Thank you, Dr. Bertrand, for sharing these exciting⁢ developments with us!

**Dr. Bertrand:** ⁤Thank you for having me! I look forward to seeing⁢ how DETECT can revolutionize the industry.
