The first edition of the Essaouira Provincial Publishing and Book Fair is being held from October 17 to 23 under the theme “Creativity in the city of openness and diversity,” the organizers announced. Initiated by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication (Department of Culture), this event reflects the desire of the Ministry to consolidate and disseminate on a large scale the culture of the book among the different categories of society, and to shed light on the latest literary and artistic publications, which will help build bridges between Moroccan writers and authors and the general public interested in cultural matters, they said in a statement. This edition will see the participation of 26 publishing houses presenting the latest publications, noted the same source, adding that this show will also be an opportunity for the signing of new works.
