We have news of the nebulous Project Q, announced with great fanfare last May. New images have just leaked, the opportunity to learn more regarding the interface of the new “console” from Sony.
le Project Q
Announced as “One more thing” by Sony boss Jim Ryan, the PlayStation Q was the sensation of the last Playstation Showcase of May 2023. If one might think that it was a completely new portable console in its own right as the Japanese firm has already done with the PsP or the Ps Vita, it is ultimately not so.
What is today baptized as le Project Q is a secondary screen to the PS5. Via Wi-Fi, players can enjoy their PS5 games remotely on this machine. In other words: a gamepad that allows you to stream games remotely via a Wi-Fi connection.
A first glimpse of the accessory was therefore shown during the last PlayStation Showcase. To the 2 sleeves of the classic DualSense is added a large 8-inch LCD screen in HD definition (720p minimum therefore). “The device delivers crisp visuals and smooth gameplay streaming from your PS5 when you’re not in front of your TV”, said Sony in an official press release. In terms of ergonomics and controls, we would find the same experience as with the DualSense, with the return of adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.
Fresh new images
While the Japanese giant has just (finally) unveiled its first PlayStation 5 collector in the colors of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, this PlayStation Q resurfaces today on the occasion of a leak highlighted on Reddit. Images that reveal more in depth the next PS5 accessory. Beyond the design, we notice for the first the interface and the OS of the machine, which appears to be running on a modified version of Android. Visuals and a video that have been widely commented on the networks.

This doesn’t make it look any better, who’s smart idea was the split the ps5 controller in half and use each side on a tablet? What if you get stock drift? Cause that’s super common on the controllers like mine has now. They should’ve at least went the VITA design way instead or…

Personally, I am very interested in this PS Q. Being able to play my PS5 at home in good condition when my TV is occupied by Madame…..personally, I vote for! And not too expensive though

They would have done as well to release a kishi-type pad, perhaps more elaborate, adapted to our mobiles, really portable, and less expensive because… it’s obviously going to be bogus, I don’t understand the real interest

Ugly and useless since it’s only wifi in use. A PS Vita 2 would be much better

It’s crazy how every ps5 product looks like an unfinished prototype

It absolutely does not make you want to, but hey, we’ll see if there are people interested in playing in bed or in the toilet ud83dude01
With the other information made available to us, in particular thanks to the ultra-renowned leaker Tom Henderson, the Project Q would have a duration of 3 to 4 hours of autonomy. Too little according to some concerning a device of this type. Regarding the price, nothing has yet been indicated by Sony, but we can estimate a range between 200 and 300 euros. Lots of speculation, but still few certainties at this stage, the Japanese company should gradually lift the veil on its new gamepad which is far from unanimous.
