Traveling back in time, we remember that the Suzuki Alto K10 was produced, with that name, between 2010 and 2020when the current S-At took his place. Adopting the bodywork of the traditional Alto, which we also knew in Colombia as the Chevrolet Alto in 1999, it took the name “K10” following receive the K10B 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine.
Regarding the new model, reports from the Indian press assure that it will have a K10C engine of 1.0 liter, 66 hp and 89 Nm of torquebut updated and with system “Start/Stop”which might make it the most fuel efficient vehicle that has been seen in its category. Improving the consumption, in fact, of many hybrid cars.
Coupled to a 5-speed manual or automated manual gearbox, it will be able to deliver up to 26 kms per litre. Namely, regarding 98 km per gallon.
In this regard, the technical director of engineering of Maruti, CV Raman, commented. “Built on the platform Heartect, the new Alto K10 will guarantee a safe, comfortable and pleasant driving experience. We have focused on offering modern design, spacious cabin and an intuitive, technology-driven interior interface.”
Technology and security
In this sense, unofficial reports ensure that the new Suzuki Alto K10 will have semi-digital dashboardmultimedia center SmartPlay with touch screen, Android Auto y Apple CarPlay, and multifunctional steering wheel. All this will mean a remarkable connectivity addition for this type of vehicle.
And in security, you can’t expect much anyway because in India it is not required. Even less, considering that this will be Suzuki’s cheapest car in that countrysecond only to Alto 800. Two airbags, parking sensors and ABS+EBD brakes are expected. The most equipped versions might have stability and traction controlsand reverse camera.
