First ODI; Babar Azam told the turning point of the match

The captain of the national cricket team, Babar Azam, told the turning point of the match played against Zimbabwe.

Talking at the Rawalpindi Stadium after the match, Babar Azam said that ‘One day match was played after a long break, the players should be given some space, when we started the innings, we were in trouble due to the pitch’.

Babar Azam said that ‘When I went to play, I started the innings with a positive mindset but regretted that I could not score more runs and did not play well especially in the last overs but in the coming days. We will try to bring more positive results.

Babar Azam said that ‘Iftikhar played a good innings in the T20, so he was given a chance in today’s match, we played more dot balls while batting, due to which we could score less runs’.

Babar Azam said that the pitch was not in favor of the spinners, so after reviewing, the fast bowling all-rounder was given a chance. The team definitely made mistakes in the first match, but we will improve the performance.

Regarding the turning point of the match, Babar Azam said that ‘Brendon Taylor’s wicket made us believe that the match was in our hands and now the victory will be ours, the spells of Shaheen Shah and Wahab Riaz were very good’.

The captain of the national cricket team said that ‘Shaheen Shah is a very good bowler, I always admire him’.

He said that ‘it is not fun to play without spectators and especially if there are no spectators of Pindi, the stadium looks deserted’. Babar Azam further said that ‘the qualifying rounds of the World Championship mean a lot to us, we will continue the winning streak in the upcoming matches’.
