First Morocco-Israel symposium on agriculture and fish farming next March

The first “Morocco-Israel Symposium on agriculture and fish farming” will be held on March 16 and 17 in Ait Melloul, near Agadir, at the initiative of the Morocco-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( CCIMI). Organized in partnership with the Souss-Massa Region, this symposium aims to facilitate the exchange of information and knowledge between professionals from the two countries and will report on the evolution of the fruit and vegetable and fish farming sector, indicates the CCIMI in a press release.

The symposium, which will take place at the Agro-Veterinary Institute (IAV) Hassan II in Aït Melloul (Agadir campus), will primarily address the issue of water and the use of new technologies for the optimization of irrigation, a vital issue for the sector, adds the same source.

During this event, producers from the Souss-Massa region, where 85% of the Kingdom’s agricultural exports come from, will be able to familiarize themselves with new directions in the sector, explore potential partnerships in research and development, between universities and producers. , and identify joint opportunities with Agro Tech start-ups and potential investors from Israel, the statement noted. This is an initiative that is part of the new line of resumption of relations between Morocco and Israel, as well as the strategy for reviving economic activity in post-covid Morocco, to build a more resilient economy. and sustainable, in line with the guidelines of the New Development Model.

This action will target the participation of more than 250 entrepreneurs, officials and representatives of companies in the sector, start-ups, laboratories and research institutes from Morocco and Israel. According to the CCIMI, this symposium will be an important and concrete contribution to the national effort to improve productivity, skills, innovation and new technologies for agriculture in Morocco.

The CCIMI is an officially mandated independent body that completes the institutional environment. Its purpose is to support the business network between Morocco and Israel.
