- The CEO of Honor showed the upcoming Magic 7 Pro smartphone on stage
- Unfortunately, we did not learn much information
- The official presentation will take place on October 30
Many large technology companies are troubled by frequent leaks of sensitive information before the official premiere, be it specifications or even pictures of the upcoming device. At the same time, there is understandably more interest in some devices than in others. Compared to Apple or Samsung, the Chinese company Honor stands rather on the sidelines of interest, yet every now and then interesting information about the upcoming device appears even before the presentation takes place. This time, Honor CEO George Zhao himself took on the role of “leaker”.
Honor Magic 7 Pro will offer thin bezels and a pill cutout
He not only showed the Honor Magic 7 Pro in a live broadcast, but also demonstrated some software gadgets. As for the design, we didn’t learn much here – the device that Zhao pulled out of his pocket was wearing a special camouflage cover so as not to reveal much about the upcoming design. This case turned the Honor Magic 7 Pro into a uniform gray cake with a protruding photo module, so the question is what the smartphone looks like in reality – we only know for sure that it will have at least two cameras and an LED flash.
However, we learned more from the software demonstration. For example, the display will get a pill cutout for the front selfie camera and technology for unlocking with the help of a 3D facial scan. The display should also be curved, as in the case of its predecessor, and the bezels around the panel are also quite thin, as befits and belongs to a 2024 smartphone. It is possible that before the official presentation, which will take place on October 30, images revealing the design will still appear on the Internet.
Much more interesting, however, is the new trend of mainly Chinese manufacturers, when smartphones are revealed by top employees of the given company shortly before the premiere. For example, two months ago, Huawei CEO Richard Yu was photographed more than once with the then-unreleased Huawei Mate XT. Although one can speculate in this case whether it was a coincidence or a premeditated marketing move, it is certain that if Huawei really wanted its new device to be truly secret, it would not have given it to a high-ranking official for use.

Oops, They Did It Again: Honor’s Sneaky Magic 7 Pro Presentation
Well, well, well! It seems that the tech world is buzzing once more, and we have the CEO of Honor, George Zhao, playing top-leaker and magician all at once! Gather ’round, folks, for a splendid tale of mid-reveal shenanigans and tech mystery wrapped in a camouflage cover. Who knew smartphones could be as elusive as a good punchline at a comedy gig?
What Did We Actually Learn?
- The CEO of Honor showed the upcoming Magic 7 Pro smartphone on stage.
- Unfortunately, we did not learn much information.
- The official presentation will take place on October 30.
The honor of revealing Honor’s Magic 7 Pro was bestowed upon Zhao himself, but let’s be honest, it looks more like he was on stage, strutting around like a peacock in a camouflage onesie! Seriously, the phone looked like a gray cake with aspirations of becoming a smartphone. When you’re trying to outdo Apple or Samsung, nothing screams, “Look at me!” like a phone that resembles dessert. Imagine the conversation: “Oh, you bought the new Magic 7 Pro? I had no idea you were Gluten Free!”
Facial Recognition or a Game of Hide and Seek?
Now, whilst Zhao was busy showing off his mystery cake phone, we did pick up a few crumbs—uh, I mean, a few details. The Magic 7 Pro will feature a pill cutout for the selfie camera. Let’s not forget the increasingly necessary 3D facial recognition tech; because what’s life without a good measure of irony, right?
This is where the tech industry continues to toe the line between innovation and a magician’s trick. “Ladies and gentlemen, for my next trick, I will unlock this phone just by looking at it!” Who wouldn’t want that ability? But really, who’s hiding from whom? The way smartphones are concealed these days makes you wonder if the design team is inside the phone, too—hiding from all the leaks!
The New Trend of Public Leaks
And here comes the real twist in our smartphone saga: this curious trend among Chinese manufacturers to reveal their latest masterpieces right before the big show. Remember when Huawei’s CEO decided to flaunt the Mate XT like a proud parent showing off a newborn? You’ve got to give it to them for the bravado, or are they simply winging it? “Oops! I leaked it again!”
So what are we left with? A promise of the official presentation on October 30, a phone that looks like a hipster’s favorite dessert, and a game of tech mystery that would make Inspector Gadget proud. Perhaps, like a good comedy set, we need to wait for the punchline before we truly appreciate the humor in it all.
Conclusion: Is Honor Tiptoeing into the Spotlight?
At the end of the day, Honor may not be able to steal the spotlight from the likes of Apple and Samsung, but they sure know how to keep us wondering. Will the Magic 7 Pro be an illustrious breakthrough or just another cake in a camouflage cover? Only time will tell, my friends. Grab your forks, stay tuned, and prepare yourselves for the big reveal!
