The first lady of San Francisco, Franciela Núñez de Fernández, carried out a new social approach in the Marcial Hernández parish, where she gave donations to citizens with disabilities and the elderly.
During his tour of the San Benito neighborhood, Núñez de Fernández attended to the needs detected by the social leaders of the sector, delivering mattresses, bags of food and channeling medical assistance to the elderly who required it.
During her visit, the first lady encountered heartbreaking cases, such as that of Clara, an elderly woman who lives alone in precarious conditions and who expressed her suffering by saying “I’m very hungry, my body hurts.” Núñez de Fernández stated that “no grandparent in the world should live this cruel reality,” and pledged to continue fighting for the well-being of older adults.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the help received, with Joba Gómez, 90, expressing his happiness for the gift and José Manuel Chirinos, 84, thanking the mayor’s wife for the visit. Clara Gómez, 80, for her part, asked for help to be able to live in a quieter place.
Núñez de Fernández urged the community to join the “Your Contribution Makes It Possible” project, aimed at helping the most disadvantaged people through donations. Likewise, he reaffirmed his commitment to the fight for the well-being of older adults, stating that “their happiness is worth everything.”
Amid the emotion and gratitude for the help received, Joba Gómez expressed his joy upon receiving the gifts and highlighted the importance of enjoying the golden years to the fullest. The first lady ended her visit by reaffirming her commitment to continue being an instrument of good for those who need it most.
