Tickets are free and require prior registration at www.making.org.una.
This project is possible thanks to the collaboration between the Office of the First Lady, Mapa Abriendo Caminos, Itaipu Binational Entity and the National Secretariat of Culture.
The coordinating minister of the OPD, Alicia Pomata, said that First Lady Leticia Ocampos is committed to everything that involves childhood and, above all, to creating experiences, with the help of organizations such as MAPA, that are recreational and inclusive for all children.
City Map Asunción is an educational project that allows children to be the architects of their own imaginary world, through art, creativity and play, offering a unique experience for the whole family.
It is a dynamic, vibrant and unique art exhibition, where children are the protagonists. Through their ideas and creations, they explore social, cultural and environmental issues, generating a playful space that stimulates learning and creative development. This traveling city aims to educate through art, allowing the little ones to be the architects of their own imaginary world.
A creative adventure: the spaces of Ciudad Mapa
When children arrive with the responsible adults, they will be welcomed by volunteers who will guide them through a world in which they will be the protagonists and where they will be able to discover and admire the works of art of other children.
Visitors will be able to enter Ciudad Mapa in groups of up to 25 people. Parents, teachers or guardians must register online in advance and free of charge, to ensure a place for children and adults who accompany them.
City Map 2024 will offer seven thematic spaces in a tour of approximately 60 minutes, in a space of 900 m², built with cardboard. Each space is designed to stimulate children’s imagination and learning through interaction with art.
Jaguar Park: Inspired by the alebrijes of Mexican artist Pedro Linares, this space invites you to create masks of fantastic animals and take them home as souvenirs.
Children’s Museum: Based on the work of artist Vik Muniz, this museum invites you to participate in the creation of a large collective portrait made from recycled materials.
Mural: A mural designed by Oz Montanía and Estudio 8, where visitors can leave their artistic mark with chalk of different colors.
Magic tree: Inspired by the work of Yoko Ono, this space allows children to leave their wishes on a leafy tree, creating a symbolic connection with their dream city.
Cine: A space where animated short films based on stories created by children from different cities in the country will be screened, all accompanied by popcorn.
Black and white theatre: A tribute to Paraguayan indigenous art, with works by the little explorers that highlight the connection between Chaco culture and nature.
