The Ile-de-France start-up Calyxia aims to become a major player in specialty chemicals thanks to its innovative microcapsule technology combining biodegradability and high performance. But to set out to conquer the world, it needs an industrial production site. This will be the case with the commissioning, in 2024, of Vertuafab, its first factory, the creation of which, estimated at 21 million euros, is supported by the State as part of the “First factory” call for projects.
“Today we produce on a semi-industrial scale in our workshop in Bonneuil-sur-Marneexplains Michel Boyer-Chammard, Deputy CEO of Calyxia. Vertuafab will be our first large campus bringing together head office, R&D and manufacturing lines to test our business model on a full industrial scale.” From 50 tonnes per year, the production level will increase to 3,000 tonnes per year thanks to the six production lines and 150 planned hires.
