Wetrok launches hybrid cleaning robot for professional building cleaning
Kloten (OTS) – The Swiss cleaning technology manufacturer Wetrok is launching a world first in May 2023: Robomatic Marvin – the first hybrid cleaning robot for professional building cleaning. The innovative leap: The floor cleaning machine can be used both as an autonomous robot and as a classic cleaning machine.
The future of cleaning is hybrid! That’s why Wetrok has Robomatic Marvin developed a machine that is both: 100 percent cleaning robot and 100 percent cleaning machine. A seamless entry into autonomous cleaning – for both material buyers and cleaning staff.
Hybrid – what does that mean?
Visually, the Wetrok robot stands out from other solutions on the market: It is remarkably compact and looks like a conventional cleaning machine. “In order to underline the hybrid use and to prevent reservations, we have decided Robomatic Marvin in the look and handling of an operated cleaning machine,” explains Mark Meng, head of the Machines division at Wetrok. Hybrid therefore means that future robot owners can decide how they want to use it depending on the situation Robomatic Marvin use: as a classic scrubber drier (manual) or as an independent robot (autonomous).
Anyone can operate the robot
Unlike fully autonomous robotic solutions, the Wetrok robot requires no programming knowledge. It works according to the “Teach & Repeat” principle: The cleaning worker drives the robot over a floor area (Teach). The machine saves the process. future leads Robomatic Marvin this cleaning tour autonomously (repeat). This procedure can be used for countless floor areas in the entire building – with only one teach effort per area. The Wetrok robot independently avoids obstacles, whether static or mobile. The highest safety standards for room users in all types of buildings are thus guaranteed. The artificial intelligence of the Wetrok robot was developed in cooperation with the ETH spin-off Sevensense Robotics AG.
Counteract staff shortages and offer job enrichment
In times of labor shortages and competitive pressure, efficiency in building cleaning has become hard currency. Floor cleaning accounts for a large part of the cleaning work. It is repetitive, monotonous and ties up human resources – a field in which automated solutions like Robomatic Marvin can offer a great deal of relief for cost accounting and staff. But not all robots are created equal. If an industrial robot completely replaces humans, a collaborative robot (also Cobot called) other goals: During Robomatic Marvin takes care of the floor cleaning, the staff can at the same time devote themselves to technically more challenging activities (e.g. window cleaning, special cleaning, etc.).
Efficient cleaning of medium-sized floor areas
Robomatic Marvin cleans up to 1,400 square meters per hour. This makes the robot ideal for buildings with medium-sized floor areas – such as gyms, museums, shopping centers or hospitals. Thanks to its compact design, it can also be used for cleaning narrow corridors and narrow corridors.
With Robomatic Marvin Wetrok has steered the image and area of application of cleaning robots in a completely new direction.
