Hamburg (ots) – The draw has decided: since yesterday evening it has been clear who will meet in the group stage of UEFA EURO 2024. The final draw for the European Football Championship took place this year in the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg – and impressively in the port of Hamburg: In a unique event, the draw was recreated simultaneously and live by Hamburg port workers with colorful country containers. The installation, which will also be clearly visible in the coming days, inseparably connects the city of Hamburg with the tournament: the first highlight of EURO 2024 took place on the Elbe.
25 containers, 12 x 70 ton Reich Stackers (container stackers), 70 port employees and a spectacular result. A 12-meter-high container structure makes the final draw of the UEFA EURO 2024 impressively tangible for all of Europe. The group draw was spectacularly recreated at the same time using containers designed in the design of the flags of the participating countries. This is how the six unmissable container towers were created, which will stand at O’Swaldkai in Hamburg until December 10, 2023.
