The proclamation ceremony was held at the Gorizia Campus of the University of Trieste first 22 graduates of the three-year course in Healthcare. An event of great importance for the territory, since these are the first fully trained health assistants in Friuli Venezia Giuliathe trailblazers for future generations of students who will follow the same path.
Fabio BarboneCoordinator of the Degree Course, underlined the strategic importance of the choice of Gorizia as the location of the training course: “The choice of the Isonzo location demonstrates the regional centrality of the UniTS-UniUD inter-university degree course. Health assistants are highly sought after figures from our territory for which they play an essential role”.
The Degree Course in Healthcare, inaugurated in the 2021/2022 academic year and active in Gorizia from the following year, has quickly established itself as a Ideal course for students interested in public healthepidemiology, health psychology and the promotion of healthy behaviors, responding to the growing demand for professionals in the field of prevention and health promotion.
During the ceremony, Francesca Lareseteacher and previous coordinator of the Course, recalled the challenges faced during the pandemic period: “The course is started in the Covid era with great enthusiasm, a cycle is now being completed with graduates who are greatly needed in the Region. The challenges of prevention are many and urgent.”
The Healthcare Assistant is a key professional for the prevention and promotion of health, operating in public and private settings. The main contexts of use include Prevention Departments, Community Homes, Addiction and Mental Health Services, schools and residential communities. The wide demand for these figures in the territory guarantees new graduates immediate entry into the world of work.
