Recently, the first images of the live-action Minecraft film have surfaced. Among them is Jack Black as Steve, as well as images of Creepers, sheep, and more.

Since the beginning of the year, it has been confirmed that Jack Black will take on the role of the standard character Steve from Minecraft. It has also been known for several years that Minecraft would get its own feature film. After a long period of silence regarding the project, it seems that the first glimpses of the film have now emerged.

Jack Black as Steve and Strange Animations

Seemingly leaked images have now appeared on X. However, these images were not shared by an official source. The images show Steve, a Creeper, a pig, and a bee.

While Jack Black as Steve looks fairly normal, the animations of the iconic Minecraft creatures appear more like nightmare fuel. One would think that filmmakers would have learned from the Sonic debacle, but the leaked images raise doubts about that.

However, this news should be treated with caution. It is unclear whether these are indeed official images from the new Minecraft film. The X post comes from user @mm365. The leaks are spreading across the internet, which seemingly displeases copyright holders, as the images are gradually being removed from platforms like X and Reddit.

What is already known?

Warner Bros. has announced that the release date for the Minecraft film is scheduled for April 3, 2025, although delays are certainly possible. Jared Hess, known for the film Napoleon Dynamite, will direct. Filming is said to have already begun and will take place in New Zealand. The lead role in the film will be played by Jason Momoa, known as Aquaman. And of course: Jack Black as Steve.

What do you think? Are the images fake or really real? Feel free to share your opinion in the comments.
