Minuto30.com .- Antioquia fencer Laura Restrepo Urrego made history this Tuesday, November 19, by winning the first fencing medal for the department of Antioquia in the I National Youth Games. Restrepo won the bronze medal in the Women’s Individual Saber event, an outstanding performance that raises the name of the sport in the region.

The woman from Antioquia managed to advance to the semifinals, where she faced fencer Elizabeth Martínez Carvajal, from Valle del Cauca, in a tight duel that ended 14-15 in favor of the woman from Valle del Cauca.

Laura Restrepo shared third place with Marina Gamboa from Tolima, securing the bronze medal in a very high-level competition.
