First Ethiopia-Malta Business Forum to strengthen bilateral ties (+Photos)

The event organized by the Investment Commission (EIC) in collaboration with TradeMalta, the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sector Associations and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is attended by 30 Maltese and more than 40 local business representatives.

During the inauguration ceremony, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mesganu Arga recalled Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s visit to Valletta in February 2023, which laid a solid foundation for bilateral relations between the two countries, cited by the EIC in your social network account

Arga mentioned priority sectors for investment, including agriculture, manufacturing, mining, tourism and information and communication technologies, as well as the recent opening of banking and telecommunications to foreign investors.

In this regard, he urged Maltese businessmen to take advantage of the immense and lucrative business opportunities in Ethiopia.

For her part, EIC Commissioner Hana Arayaselasie highlighted the enormous investment potential of the African country and its untapped resources, while recalling the implementation of economic reform to present itself as a suitable investment destination.

Meanwhile, Malta’s ambassador to Ethiopia, Ronald Micallef, stated that the business forum is a testament to the commitment of the two countries to further strengthen their bilateral ties.
