The “Compa Green 23” forum, which will be held on June 8, will see the participation of more than 200 actors of the green economy in Tunisia. Several themes related to the environmental question will be discussed during the conferences and workshops that will punctuate the day.

The first edition of the “Compa Green 23” environmental forum will be held on June 8 in Tunis. It is a large-scale event that aims to be a place for exchanges and meetings between the actors of the green economy in Tunisia.

Organized by the Ministry of the Environment in partnership with the National Waste Management Agency, Universel Services and the German Agency for International Cooperation GIZ, on the occasion of World and National Environment Day, the forum will address issues related to environmental management, particularly in the industry and health sectors. It will see the participation of more than 200 actors from the green sectors, in this case companies, start-ups, NGOs and public structures.

Thematic workshops, B2B meetings…

The day will be punctuated by debates, thematic workshops and B2B meetings. Thanks to the conferences that will take place during the morning, the participants will be able to discuss the state of play of the recycling sector and the recovery of hazardous waste in Tunisia, the circular economy as well as the carbon footprint. The technical workshops, which will be moderated by experts in the environment and work safety, will allow participants to deepen their knowledge of important subjects such as specifications, waste management on work sites and the approach to obtaining ISO 140.001 certification.

The “Compa Green 23” forum will also open its doors to welcome Tunisian start-ups looking for funding, support or partnership. A B2B workshop will be devoted to connecting start-ups that offer innovative solutions in environmental management with financial institutions. By way of raising awareness, the forum has planned competitions that give pride of place to environmental issues. Thus, during the event, an award ceremony for the winners of the best press article, the best play for children and the best PFE will be organized.

According to the organizers, the event essentially aims to put the environmental question back on the carpet. It should be noted in this context that the management of household and industrial waste today poses a real problem in Tunisia. Waste recycling remains a major challenge for the authorities since only 8% of the waste produced is recycled. At the end of the day, recommendations will be issued and recorded in a report which will be submitted to the authorities.
