worry and great confusion
Ex-Chelsea talent disappeared without a trace
Charly Musonda has a contract from Belgium, but has since disappeared without a trace.
Charly Musonda was under contract with Chelsea for ten years. After the end of his contract in London, the Belgian completed trial training in his home country with Zulte Waregem. There the midfielder convinced and received a contract.
He just didn’t sign it and hasn’t been found since. He signed off for “family reasons” and then wanted to sign the contract. But the player didn’t appear once more and has disappeared without a trace for weeks. “We don’t know when he’ll be back for training. Does he ever come back? We have no idea, »says Waregem club boss Eddy Cordier, who is worried.
Traded as a huge talent
Musonda joined Chelsea aged 15 and was considered a transfer coup at the time. Ten years ago, the “Blues” prevailed once morest clubs such as Barcelona, Manchester City and Real Madrid to sign the Belgian-Zambian dual citizen. After that, however, Musonda played more for loan teams than for Chelsea. Most recently for Vitesse Arnhem in the Eredevisie.
Cordier is unsure: “I don’t know if we should continue to rely on him because he hasn’t been there since training a few weeks ago and there has been no contact.” (jsl)
