First day of plucking in the permaculture garden

2023-07-03 06:12:04

On Thursday, July 13, from 5 p.m., the first “Plucking Day” with a green exchange market will take place on the grounds of the former garden show, Bio.Garten.Eden, in Aigen-Schlägl. Under the motto “o’zupft is” people meet at the bread oven for a walk through the permaculture garden. Everyone is allowed to “pluck” what is edible and tastes good. Those who are interested also learn regarding the healing properties of some plants or how they are used in the kitchen. The plucked meat is then tasted. Children are allowed to paint with plants, and it is shown how tea is fermented from herbs and how many medicinal herbs can be smoked. There is also bread from the wood-fired oven. The flour for this is donated by the Mandl family, who have specialized in old local varieties of grain. This grain is tastier and more digestible than overbred varieties.

Green Exchange Market

At the green exchange market everything to do with the garden is exchanged: from planted rubber boots to gardening books, fruits, plants and seeds, small devices, decorations and gardening knowledge. Your own picnic blanket serves as a sales stand. At the information point, up to five garden items that you have brought with you must be exchanged for “flax blossoms”. The aim of the personal exchange is to get to know new people who are interested in permaculture. Information and mandatory registration at: [email protected] (0664/56 86 907).
