OAXACA.- Seven people were injured after a fireworks explosion Yesterday afternoon during the Convite, a parade of delegations that takes place in the city of Oaxaca prior to the second “Monday of the Hill“the octave of the Guelaguetza and with which the celebration closes.
According to the Government of the State of Oaxaca, the accident was due to the plastic bag explosion containing fireworks. They also announced that paramedics treated six injured people at the scene. One more was transferred to the Mexican Red Cross Hospital to receive surgical scrubbing, as he has second-degree burns on his right foot.
Civil Protection reported that the incident was caused by ” a spark that fell on a bag of fireworks that He was carrying one of the delegations who participated in the Invitation.”
The official explained that this caused minor injuries to six people who were sitting on the bench and were watching the second Parade of Delegations that will participate in the Eighth of the “Monday of the Hill”.
The companions of the injured people were not affected, but they were also provided support at the time. The head of the CEPCyGR clarified that of the seven people affected, six are adults and one is a minor, all of them female.

- Maria Guadalupe Ambrosio Alba, 44 years old, from Mexico City.
- Katherine Scot, 7 years old, from Los Angeles, California, United States.
What is the Parade of Delegations?
The Parade of Delegations consists of a tour of the main streets of the Historic Center of the city of Oaxaca in which the members of the delegations that will be presented next Monday in the auditorium of the Fort Hillduring the two performances with which the Guelaguetza closes in its eighth year.
