Fires in Vari: This is the 66-year-old university professor accused of arson – Documentary photo

A photo-document of the 66-year-old university professor, who was arrested as an arsonist for the four fires on June 8 and 9, in Vari, Attica, has seen the light of day.

This is footage from cameras close to the spot that recorded him being nearby on all 4 occasions, while on 2 occasions the man appears to be setting the fires as well.

This material reached the hands of the prosecutor, at which point it was decided to issue the arrest warrant against the 66-year-old.

He is a university professor, who for 12 years served as a professor in Police schools, while he was also a consultant to state institutions in relation to educational matters.

According to his biography, the 66-year-old holds a doctorate from the Department of Sociology of Panteion University, a graduate of the Economics Department of Aristotle University and a graduate scholar of economic studies and business research studies, while he also gave lectures at the Greek Police Officers’ School in Amygdaleza.

The alleged perpetrator lives in the area where the fire broke out with his family, while information suggests that he had complained to the Municipality about plots that had not been cleaned.
