Firefighters saw flames when they opened the huge facility – several hours of work still await

– There has been an error in the machine itself, and it has generated heat, which has set fire to a cooling system that is around the oven, explains incident leader at North Jutland’s Emergency Services Kristoffer Holm, who is still working on Sunday at 10 o’clock work at the address.

The production plant, which stands in a large hall and which stretches 5-7 storeys in height, is full of feed material, which must be emptied in order to finally extinguish the fire.

When the emergency services opened up to the facility’s furnace and cooling system, there were flames, but they never spread to the building itself.

– We have limited the fire to the facility itself, notes the incident leader as he takes stock.

The project manager cannot answer how much feed will now have to be emptied, but he expects that the emergency services will continue to be on site for another few hours.

The role of emergency services is now to ensure that the room is ventilated while the company’s own people empty the facility.

– As soon as there are signs of smoke again, we go in and have it extinguished before they can come back in, so that they don’t work in a smoky environment. In this way, we have a good cooperation with the company, says Kristoffer Holm.

The emergency services received the report about the fire at 08.15. It was the company itself that discovered it and raised the alarm.
