The firefighters of the Hemeco zone were called in the night from Monday to Tuesday at 12:15 a.m. for four cars on fire, in the district of the station, rue Saint-Ivette in Huy. They were cars stored behind a shed. Among the ten vehicles on site, four caught fire for a reason that remains to be determined. To access the hearth, the firefighters had to make an opening in the fence.
The hutois firefighters deployed a pumper and a self-ladder and quickly brought the fire under control. Their intervention ended around 1:10 a.m. Two cars were completely destroyed, two others are partially damaged. The identity of the owners is not known.
The Huy police also descended on the spot to carry out investigative duties to determine whether the origin of the fire was accidental or deliberate. The judicial police laboratory is expected on the scene. An investigation is underway. The owner of the vehicles is not known. But according to the first elements, these facts would not be linked to the car fires which took place in several places in the city of Huy at the beginning of July.
