Ostrava police spokeswoman Eva Michalíková said on Wednesday that the police are investigating the circumstances of the fire. “Criminal officers have initiated criminal proceedings on suspicion of committing the crime of public endangerment due to negligence. In the past, the hall belonged to Vítkovice Heavy Machinery from the engineering holding of the Ostrava businessman Jan Světlík. In 2021, the site was acquired in an auction by the company Skatlop.
