Kottayam ∙ During the Pudupally by-elections, Sathiamma, who was fired from her temporary job for saying good things regarding Oommen Chandy in front of the channel camera, goes to work in a nunnery in Ernakulam for daily work. He comes home once a month. Sick husband Radhakrishnan is alone at home. A job away from home was accepted to support the family and medical expenses.

PO Sathiamma (52) of Puthupally Pallikkishkeath was a sweeper at Kaitepalam Veterinary Hospital for 11 years. The monthly salary was Rs.8,000. When her son Rahul died in a car accident, Oommen Chandy directly intervened and helped her and attended her daughter’s wedding ceremony while she was the chief minister.
