Fire of a famous chef against Haris Doukas: You are not a mayor – 20 days my restaurant is blocked due to works! – What is the municipality’s response?

In detail in his post he states:

“Dear Mr. Duke, what are you doing… We don’t know each other and there is no reason for us to know each other. My name is Alexandros Tsiotinis, I am a chef and owner of two restaurants located in Kerameikos. I am very happy to realize that after a long time you have finished your second election campaign in a row, as if I remember correctly the people have chosen you as the mayor of Athens, nevertheless you have also sought to deal with other social or political problems for becoming PASOK, which I agree with, although and as long as you have managed to fulfill what has been asked of you by the people. That is, be the mayor of Athens.

In my eyes you are not, as for the last 20 days my one restaurant is practically closed, because you have dug in front of the whole shop for various problems and left some open trenches.

Sorry to put it this way, but we’re talking about 20 days. Council fees are not 20 days late, because if they are late, you know, from the next day – I don’t know if you know this – they have surcharges. Also the salaries. This is also a problem, because this scapegoat called a businessman unfortunately has to be solvent in his obligations. I don’t know if you know this.

Of course, I am not someone who simply posts all this on social media, but you see since I have addressed the Municipality, EYDAP, Natural Gas, all those who have come and dug in my restaurant in the last six months three or four times and I have found a door, I am sharing this just in case someone rings a bell that unfortunately there is today that you have to deal with politically, so that we can look to tomorrow. Otherwise, tomorrow we will not exist”.

@alextsiotinis This is my truth, if Mr. Duke has a different opinion, he’s happy to tell me, but I can’t find another way, this is where you got us♬ original sound – Alex Tsiotinis

What is the municipality’s response?

Regarding the video posted on TikTok by the well-known chef and restaurant owner Mr. Alexandros Tsiotinis, about the projects being carried out in front of his shops, the Municipality of Athens categorically states that:

The technical services of the Municipality of Athens do not carry out any work at this point.
On 9/25 and 10/14, DEDDIE notified us of damage to the site (in these cases no permission is requested from the Municipality of Athens). Also, in various parts of Kerameikou Street, projects are being carried out by ENAON (natural gas) for which, also based on the law, a permit is not requested from the Municipality of Athens.
Therefore, the characterizations of Mr. Tsiotini are completely unfounded, as there is no fault of the Municipality for the situation he describes on the sidewalk outside his shops.
