Houses were evacuated as a precaution, while according to information the flames came very close to a house, which appears to be uninhabited. A firefighter had to be transferred to the 424 military hospital as a precaution due to respiratory problems.
The Deputy Minister of Interior (Macedonia-Thrace) Kostas Giulekas went to Trilofos, in order to be informed on the spot regarding the fire extinguishing operation. The road from Nea Michaniona to Trilofos remains closed, while traffic from Moudanion continues normally.
According to the official information from the fire department “the fire in Thermi Thessaloniki, the 3rd in a row in the last days in the same area, occurred in a mixed zone with high risk, between dense vegetation and residences and quickly took on dimensions” and “therefore a message was issued by 112 in order to inform the residents of the area regarding the fire”. “The fire reached close to houses and in some cases caused damage.
