The arsonist was sentenced to 37 months in prison without parole for the fire in Stimaga, Corinthia, which occurred on Wednesday (17/7).
It is recalled that his arrest was made within the framework of the spontaneous procedure, by Officers of the Directorate for Countering Arson Crimes (DAEE), in cooperation with investigative officers of the K.A.E.E. Peloponnese and P.Y. Kiatou.
At the same time, next Tuesday he is expected to apologize to the investigator for the large fire that broke out in the same area on Thursday (11/7). According to information, this is a 73-year-old man who has allegedly confessed his actions.
It is noted that the two fires in Stimaga Corinthia turned to ashes large areas with vines and olive trees, as well as forest. Although the Fire Department was mobilized immediately, the fires grew in size due to the strong winds blowing in the area and titanic efforts were needed to control and finally put them out.
