Earlier, a 112 message was sent to the residents of the village of Afrati in Evia, due to the fire that has been ongoing since midday on Wednesday (31/7). A message was sent from 112 for the residents of the Afrati settlement to move away towards Vassiliko, while strong winds are blowing in the area.

Specifically, as stated in the message, “if you are in the Afrati area, move towards Vassiliko”.

Powerful forces are working on the fire in Evia, specifically 120 firefighters with 5 groups of pedestrian units and 40 vehicles. At the same time, 17 aerial vehicles are operating from the air, specifically, 11 aircraft and 6 helicopters, one of which is for their coordination. Their work in extinguishing the fire is supported by water tankers and work machines of the OTAs.

The municipality of Chalkideon in its post speaks of a precautionary evacuation of the Municipal Community of Afrati, due to the ongoing fire in the area of ​​Pissonas.
