Powerful forces are working on the fire in Evia, specifically 120 firefighters with 5 groups of pedestrian units and 40 vehicles. At the same time, 17 aerial vehicles are operating from the air, specifically, 11 aircraft and 6 helicopters, one of which is for their coordination. Their work in extinguishing the fire is supported by water tankers and work machines of the OTAs.

The municipality of Chalkideon in its post speaks of a precautionary evacuation of the Municipal Community of Afrati, due to the ongoing fire in the area of Pissonas.
“A preventive evacuation order of the Municipal Community of Afratiou was given by the Mayor of Halkidiki, Elena Vaka, following a recommendation from the Fire Service, due to the ongoing fire in the area of Pissonas of the Municipality of Dirfyon-Messapion.
According to the above, all citizens who are in the Municipal Community of Afrati are ordered to move away from the area as a precaution and move to safe places towards Vassiliko, in accordance with the urgent notification sent earlier by 112.
The Mayor asked for the strengthening of the extinguishing effort with more aerial means, as the front of the fire is large and it is possible that it will also head towards the Municipality of Eretria”.
