Fire in Attica: A titanic battle to save animals from the fiery fronts, dramatic appeals on social media

Attica is experiencing dramatic times, due to the fire that broke out in Varnavas on Sunday (11/8). Animals are also victims of the fiery hell. Both the domesticated animals, which are extinct, and the stray ones are looking for a way to be saved from the fires, with the competent authorities and volunteers doing their best.

The images published by the INTIME agency, from the rescue of a dog by a group of police officers in the Drafi area, are touching. As we can see from the photos, a policeman has taken a large dog in his hands and together with his colleagues they are taking it away from the fires.

At the same time, a fireman approaches and gives some water to the thirsty animal, which looks exhausted from the adventure it has lived.

It is worth noting that since yesterday dozens of posts have been published on the internet, from citizens who are desperately looking for their four-legged friends.

Some of them have been republished by the non-profit organization Dog’s Voice and the animal shelter A little Shelter.

“I’m looking for the dog in the photo. Her name is Hionati, she is 13 years old and lives in Dioni. While evacuating today we tried to put her in the car, but she ran and we lost her,” one user wrote in a post on social media.

The post in detail:
