“Fire in Angleur warehouse kills parrots and hens: Updates and News”

A fire broke out around 2 a.m. in a warehouse located rue de Tilff in Angleur at number 203. 200 parrots and around twenty hens were in this warehouse. As a precaution, the family in the house next door was evacuated.

The fire is controlled but not contained. 28 firefighters intervened with in particular three tanks, two pumpers, but also with the help of civil protection. Part of the warehouse collapsed. “The situation was very complicated“, says Bruno Schaeck, captain of the Liège fire department.It was a maze of cages and the battalion was smoky.

The animals did not survive the fire.

Rue de Tilff is closed to traffic in both directions to allow the emergency services to work.

Diversions are in place, in the direction Angleur towards Tilff, at rue de Clérembault and, in the direction Tilff towards Angleur, at rue de Streupas.
