The Fire Service was alerted on Wednesday afternoon, as a fire broke out in an agroforestry area in the Pyrgetou area of Larissa. The fire immediately mobilized the firefighting forces of the area, as there was a risk of its spreading due to the weather conditions.
35 firefighters are operating at the scene, reinforced by a group of pedestrians from the 10th EMODE, as well as 8 fire trucks. Also, to fight the fire from the air, 3 aircraft participate, which carry out continuous water drops, in order to limit the spread of the flames.
The firefighting operation is also supported by water carriers of the local Local Government Organizations, which assist in the extinguishing work, transporting large quantities of water.
