Fire breaks out in northern Israel after two drones launched from Lebanon fall

Israel – A fire broke out in the Beit Hillel area in northern Israel on Saturday, following two drones launched from Lebanon crashed.

The army said in a statement published on its account on the “X” platform: “Two suspicious aerial targets were detected from Lebanese territory and fell in an open area in the Beit Hillel area, without causing any injuries.”

The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that firefighting teams began extinguishing a fire that broke out in an agricultural area south of Beit Hillel in the “Galilee Finger” region, as a result of the fall of the two drones.

In another statement, the army said: “Following the activation of warnings of enemy drones infiltrating the north of the country, our air defenses were able to intercept a suspicious aerial target launched from Lebanese territory, without causing any casualties.”

In another statement, he said: “After the alert was activated in the Kiryat Shmona area a short while ago, our air defenses were able to intercept a suspicious aerial target launched from Lebanon, without causing any injuries.”

The Israeli military uses the term “suspicious aerial target” to refer to drones.

In recent weeks, confrontations have escalated between Tel Aviv and Lebanese factions, raising fears of a full-scale war, especially with the Israeli army approving operational plans for a “large-scale attack” on Lebanon.

Since October 8, Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon have been exchanging daily shelling with the Israeli army across the “Blue Line,” leaving hundreds dead and wounded, most of them on the Lebanese side.

These factions are making the cessation of the bombing conditional on Israel ending a war it has been waging with American support on the Gaza Strip since October 7, which has left more than 125,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing.
