This Saturday evening, shortly following 7:30 p.m., a fire broke out at number 46 rue Émile Kirsch, a long street that connects Messancy to Athus along the railway line.
Four firefighters’ rescue vehicles arrived on the scene, as towering flames poured out of the upstairs windows. The large ladder had to be deployed to reach the floor where the fire broke out. The fire managed to be contained, but the damage was significant.
“The occupants were able to escape by taking their animals, explains a neighbor. Everyone was safe, but it was very impressive.”
It seems that the origin of the fire is the explosion of a fan in an attic room, where flammable materials have facilitated the spread of flames.
