Fire at the cooling tower of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine

“As a result of the shelling of the city of Enerhodar by the Ukrainian armed forces, a fire broke out in a cooling system,” said Yevgeny Balitsky, the Russian-appointed governor of the Ukrainian region of Zaporizhia, on the online service Telegram. Balitsky and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that there were no changes in radiation levels around Europe’s largest nuclear power plant.
